A whole day of love, laughter, happy tears and so many candid moments that will be cherished for a lifetime, with every exquisite detail captured for you to re-live over and over again.
With this in mind, your choice of wedding photographer is of course a crucial element in your planning process, and the relationship you establish with them will play a key role in your choice. If you think about it, they will be with you for the whole day (and evening potentially) so you must feel comfortable with them.
A great wedding photographer will guide you in terms of how and when they will capture the day as it unfolds, and will encourage you to be clear about any specific images you want. Let’s take the cake for instance. I know I have vested interest here, but as an Essex Wedding Cake Designer I cannot tell you how many times the cake unwittingly gets overlooked when it comes to the number of images taken. I think the reason for this is that it isn’t always discussed at the planning stage and so it’s only at the cake cutting moment that it gets some photographic attention. It’s such a shame, when there are in fact so many opportunities for great imagery to be captured throughout the day. This is no-one’s fault at all, with so many key photos to think about, it’s no wonder!
You will have invested a lot of your hard earned money on your carefully curated cake and you will want it visually documented from every angle, so be sure to add it to your wedding to-do list and chat to your photographer about it . It’s also a good idea to ask them if they are familiar with your venue. For example, if your venue is in Essex, finding a photographer who has experience in capturing the elegance and intricacy of wedding cakes in Essex would be a great starting point.

So what’s the answer, to How many wedding cake photos is too many? Honestly, in my opinion there's no such thing as too many! Each image tells a different story and captures the detail that makes your cake a true work of art. From close-ups of delicate sugar flowers to panoramic shots showcasing the entire cake, they’re all amazing and will look different depending on the light and shadow of the day.. So be sure to discuss things with your chosen photographer. Your investment deserves to be captured in all its glory!.
